H'ART Museum

A 1681 care home cut loose from St. Petersburg, now booking shows with the Smithsonian and the Pompidou.

This classical Amstel-side building spent over 300 years as an Amsterdam care home before a €40 million conversion. It operated as a Hermitage satellite until March 2022, when it severed ties one week after Russia invaded Ukraine. Rebranded H'ART in September 2023, it now programs with the British Museum, Smithsonian, and Centre Pompidou.

Sits on the east bank of the Amstel river in the former Amstelhof building. Check the museum's website for current admission and hours before visiting.
