Former Victoria Barracks (1867-1910) reimagined for HK$398 million and opened in 1991. The park layers colonial-era buildings — some dating to 1846 — against modern facilities and the city's largest aviary, all a few minutes from one of Hong Kong's busiest business districts.
What to look for
- Edward Youde Aviary, Hong Kong's largest aviary and the park's main feature
- Flagstaff House (1846), the oldest surviving structure on site, now housing the Museum of Teaware since 1984
- Rawlinson House, once the British Deputy General's residence, now the Cotton Tree Drive Marriage Registry
Skip the Cotton Tree Drive hill: walk through Pacific Place mall and take its nearby escalator directly up to the park entrance.
