This 1931 double-decker held the record for longest main span in the world until the Golden Gate opened in 1937, and remains the only suspension bridge with 14 lanes. Its upper level carries pedestrians and cyclists between Fort Lee, New Jersey, and Washington Heights, Manhattan.

What to look for

The upper level carries foot and bike traffic, but the northern sidewalk is closed at night (as of 2024).
