Home of the Knicks (NBA) and Rangers (NHL), it's the oldest arena in the NBA and, as of 2016, the second-busiest music arena in the world. Opened in 1968, it was one of the first venues raised above an active railroad station.
What to look for
- The building sits on the platforms of Pennsylvania Station—the old station's above-ground structure was torn down to make room
- Sightlines to neighboring Midtown landmarks: the Empire State Building, Macy's at Herald Square, and Koreatown
- This is the fourth Garden to carry the name; the first two stood on Madison Square at East 26th Street and Madison Avenue
