The top platform sits at 276 m — the EU's highest public observation deck — with a champagne bar and Gustave Eiffel's preserved apartment. Three levels reward the climb with widening views over Paris.
What to look for
- The 72 names of French scientists, engineers and mathematicians Gustave Eiffel engraved on the tower — painted over in the early 1900s, restored in 1986–87.
- The paint gradient: three shades, lighter at the top, darker at the base, so the iron reads evenly against the sky.
- After dark, on the hour, 20,000 bulbs sparkle for five minutes.
