Kaplakriki Stadium

The most-attended football ground in Iceland anchors a full sports campus in the Greater Reykjavik town of Hafnarfjörður.

Home of Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar (FH), Kaplakriki pulled the highest average league attendance in Iceland in 2016 — 1,541 fans per match. The wider complex is more than a football ground: a handball arena that held the 1995 World Men's Handball Championship, a track-and-field facility opened in 2014, and an indoor football hall named Risinn (The Giant) all share the site.

What to look for

Located in Hafnarfjörður, roughly 10 km south of central Reykjavik; check FH's match calendar before visiting — the stadium is liveliest on match days.
