Sweden's state museum for modern art since 1958 holds Picasso, Dalí, Matisse, Duchamp, Louise Bourgeois, and Rauschenberg under one roof, plus a sculpture park on the water's edge of Skeppsholmen island. Over 700 works bequeathed by former director Pontus Hultén fill a dedicated study gallery alongside the permanent collection.

- Alexander Calder's The Four Elements (1961) and a Picasso–Nesjar concrete sculpture (1962) in the outdoor sculpture park
