Housed in the Empress Place Building since 2003, ACM was among the first museums in the region to cover pan-Asian civilisations under one roof — China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia, representing the ancestral origins of Singapore's communities. TripAdvisor ranked it the top museum in Singapore and ninth in Asia in 2014.

What to look for

The museum occupies the Empress Place Building directly on the Singapore River — easy to combine with a riverside walk.

Asian Civilisations Museum is one of 30 sights worth the detour in Singapore, all bundled offline in Voyage GO — download the Singapore pack and it sits on your map with no signal, filling your travel passport the moment you walk past.
