Kallang

Singapore first took flight here — and then learned to roar.

Kallang shaped two chapters of Singapore's national story: the Kallang Airport was the country's first purpose-built civil airport, and the old National Stadium — which hosted 18 National Day Parades — gave birth to the legendary Kallang Roar. The Singapore Sports Hub now anchors the district, with a new National Stadium and the Singapore Indoor Stadium carrying the legacy forward along the banks of the Kallang River.

What to look for

The Singapore Indoor Stadium frequently hosts concerts — check what's on before you visit, as the Sports Hub complex is the main draw.
